Xi’an city wall 

Acting on Zhu Sheng’s advice after capturing Huizhou, Zhu Yuanzhang, first ruler and Emperor of all-powerful Ming Dynasty, built the historic and epic Xi’an City wall to help provide the much-needed security during the war-prone era. Building these ‘high walls’ was also in an effort to fortify the city, thereby bringing the rest of the states together. The wall has survived several centuries and remains one of the world’s most extensive traditional military defense systems. Not only is the wall one of the best preserved, but also the largest and oldest in the country. Erected during the 14th century, it has undergone refurbishment thrice, about once every 2 centuries, and most recently in the early 1980s.

The museum covers about 1100sq and is strategically located about 17 miles from Xi’an, which was then the Qin Empire’ capital city, that is, between 221BC and 206BC, and the primary area for the Han Dynasty between 206BC and 220BC. The Han Dynasty used Xianyang Museum as their Mausoleum, where they buried all the dead. This contributed to the discovery of the best artifacts from the royal graves and the destructions of Xianyang City. Apart from all these, the museum holds the best cultural monuments of both the Han Dynasty and the Qin Dynasty which were discovered from the Xi’an Xianyang City. The Xianyang Museum stars 9 exposition halls, with each hall hosting real-life reserves.

Xian Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a prehistoric building found in Xian City, China. It is also known as the Great Wild Goose Pagoda or the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. It represents the traditional Chinese architecture. It has a simple style, solemn appearance, and high structure. This structure was built during the Tang Dynasty period. Buddhists consider it as a holy place. It is recognized as a National Cultural Relic Preserve. It attracts millions of tourists every year. Visitors can enjoy a scenic view of Xian City from this building.

Features of the Muslim Street

Muslim Street or The Muslim Quarter, is a paved road with blue-gray flagstones and shaded by trees, along which the archaized stores of the Ming (1368-1644) and the Qing (1644-1911) dynasties are in line, and they’re all operated by the Hui ethnic people.A number of ancient architectural buildings are well-retained on the street, highlighted by Hanguang Gate of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Xicheng Gate Tower Cluster of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the City God Temple (a Taoist temple) and the Grand Mosque, all of which contrast finely with one another.Though Muslim Street is regarded as a tourist scenic spot by foreigners, it’s actually considered a snack street by the locals, and is an ideal place for locals to kill time during a hot summer. As a matter of fact, what makes this Muslim Street a food street is unending lines of various restaurants and food stalls, some of which specialize in selling cakes, others in dried fruit or breads, and hordes of stalls selling barbequed meats on skewers.
You would also see folks making candy — real time! Xi’an sweets make a great gift to take back home at approximately RMB 25–50 a pack depending on the type.
