If you are planning to take a tour to Nanjing, you can take a train from Shanghai or Beijing that will allow you arrive at Nanjing south railway station. This is one of the most popular stations in the country for high speed trains. It is the biggest high speed train station, not only in China, but Asia too.

Construction

The construction of this station began in April 1, 2009 and started its operations on 28, June 2011. It has twenty eight platforms with the same number of lines. The station has HSRD trains that travel at a speed of 200km/h and the G trains that travel at a speed of 300km/h. It serves different areas such as Tianjin West, Zhengzhou, Jinan West, Xuzhou and Beijing west.

Floors

The station has five floors in total. There are two underground floors containing the Nanjing Metro and shops. In the first floor, there are passenger departures, arrivals and handling of goods. In the second floor are platforms and in the third floor there are waiting halls.

Services and facilities offered

At Nanjing south railway station there are different services offered. There are taxi services that allow you to take a taxi to the parking lot found in the third floor. There are also connected escalators that can also take you to the third floor in case you take subway.

At the station, you have the opportunity to look at the departure gate through a big electric screen that flashes timetable of the latest train in the station.

In the waiting hall, there are restaurants and shops where you can buy foods and

other items you need. There is also an information center in the mid of the hall. Here you can ask questions regarding

the left luggage and the red cap service from the staff who work here.
