NO.1 Walk along the Bund
The Bund is located on the west bank of Huangpu River. The total length is about 1,500 meters with 52 different-styled buildings standing on the two sides. It is regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. There are 7 classical and historical buildings free to the public: NO.1 the Bund, the Peace Hotel, the building Bank of China, the building of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Shanghai Archives Center, Shanghai Telecommunication Building, Shanghai Bund History Museum.
Light Opening Hours: 19:00-23:00 from May to October, 18:00-21:00 from November to April.
Ferry is the common way for you to cross the Huangpu River. The ticket price is CNY 2 for you to leave from Pujiang wharf to Dongchang Road wharf.
NO.2 Visit City God Temple
Chenghuangmiao, known as the city god temple, is a famous Taosim temple with more than 600 years’ history in Shanghai area, making it a must-see attraction when traveling in Shanghai. The temple is constituted by several halls.

NO.3 Visit Xintiandi of Shanghai
Located in the center of Shanghai City and south of Middle Huaihai Road, Xintiandi is a fashionable pedestrian street composed of old-style Shikumen residences and modern architecture like international art gallery, themed restaurants, coffee bar and so on. It retains the antique walls, tiles and exterior of the Shikumen residences of old Shanghai while embodies a totally modern world in its interior.
Xintiandi is located on the NO.181 Taicang Road of Huangpu District. Roaming here, you will get the taste of both Shanghai in the 1920s and the modern lifestyle of urbanites of the 21st century.
NO.4 Watch shows at Shanghai Circus World
Shanghai Circus World, regarded as China’s ‘No. 1 Circus World’ is located at NO.2266 New Gonghe Road in Jing’an District. The ticket sells from 09:00 to 19:30. In 2019, there are two most famous and popular programs which have regular performances here. They are ‘ERA Intersection of Time’ and ‘Happy Circus’, showing at 19:30 and 14:00 respectively.
Happy Circus gives the show on the Middle theatre of Shanghai Circus World. It is good for parents to take kids to watch the show. It is advised to choose A, B zone as it is nearer to reach the stage and interact with performers.
ERA Intersection of Time has become an ID card of Shanghai, which attracts the desire of foreign tourists. The show includes Mirror Mirage, Magic Water, Sinan (ancient compass), Bowl Balancing, Wheel of Life, Forever Love, Space Motorcycle.
NO.5 Visit Zhujiajiao Water Town
Zhujiajiao Water Town is located on the central south of Qingpu District with 1700 years of history. The town has 9 ancient streets with streams and rivers. Thousands of residential buildings are built aside the river. The north street is also called “Line street”, which is a typical ancient street of regions south of the Yangtze River. It is advised to take boats under the 35 ancient stone bridge, admiring the old houses aside the river. Kezhi Gardern is also worthy of visiting.
NO.6 Go to Tian Zifang
Tian Zifang is located on NO.210 Taikang Road, which was a back street in former French Concession. A bit like 798 of Beijing, Tian Zifang opens for 24 hours with no tickets. The name of Tian Zifang is coined by Huang Yongyu, the dean in Chinese painting circle. The feature of Tian Zifang is that there are still many former residents living here. Many coffee shops, bars, tea houses, and silk shops here are operated by an international mix of owners, making it a creative and interesting place.
NO.7 Go to Yuyuan Garden
Yuyuan Garden is a private garden built in Ming Dynasty with more than 400 years of history. The owner of the garden is Pan Yunduan from Sichuan. His initial purpose was to create a peaceful garden for his parents . For more than 20 years, Yuyuan Garden was finally built up. It is one of the most famous classical garden in China. The meaning of its name is happiness and enjoyment.

NO.8 Visit Shanghai Museum
Built in 1952, Shanghai Museum covers an area of 12,000 square meters. Chinese ancient bronzes and sculptures are on the first floor. Chinese ancient ceramics are on the second floor. On the third floor, there exhibits the Chinese ancient calligraphy, paintings and seals. On the forth floor, there are jades, coins, furniture, and minority nationalities.
Shanghai Museum is located on NO.201 Renmin Avenue of Huangpu District, South side of People’s Square. The opening time is from 9:00 to 17:00. Visitors can enter for free after security check. The museum issues 8000 free tickets daily including 2500 reserved online.
NO.9 Enjoy the scenery of Shanghai from WFC
Shanghai World Financial Center (WFC) is located on NO.100 Century Avenue of Pudong New District with 101 floors above ground and 3 underground. The height of WFC is 492 meters with 20 cross-country financial institutions, shopping centers and one large-scaled hotel. B2, B1, F2 and F3 are shopping malls and restaurants. F7 to F77 are meeting facilities and offices, F79 to F93 are hotels and F94, F97 and F 100 are used for sightseeing.
The opening time is from 9:00 to 22:30 (21:30 for the last entrance). It only takes 66 seconds to go up from B2 to F95 with high-speed elevator.
NO.10 Shopping on Nanjing Road
Nanjing Road, also called Damalu in Chinese, is the busiest commercial district in the world. Built in 1845, Nanjing road can be divided into East Nanjing Road and West Nanjing Road.
Nanjing Road has many ancient shops as it is China’s premier shopping street. West Nanjing Road (including Jing’an Temple) is the most famous and flourishing commercial street in Shanghai. It has Plaza 66, CITIC Square, Westgate Malls, Wheel Lock Square, Park Place and so on. Some top-brand stores or shops can be also found here.
