Western China International Fair (short as WCIF)， starting from China Western Development, was founded in May 2000. The permanent site is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The WCIF adheres to the concept of “co-organization, sharing, and win-win”, making it a national-level and international comprehensive exhibition hosted by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province. The WCIF has become an important window and the best platform for the opening-up of western China. It is an important investment promotion, trade cooperation and diplomatic service platform for China in the western region and an important carrier for realizing western cooperation, east-west cooperation and Sino-foreign cooperation in the western region.
Before 2014, the WCIF was held every year. Since 2016, it is held every two year. The 17th western China international fair adopts the principle of One Fair and Two Venues, namely the Exhibition Center of Western China International Expo City and Century City New International Convention & Exhibition Center.

The Sichuan Agricultural Exhibition is held simultaneously with western China international exhibition. It shows the famous brands of alcohol, cuisine, tea, fruit, medicine, pig, cigarette, oil, and potatoes in Sichuan, as well as the cooperation projects with countries along the Belt and the Road.

The three major telecom corporations, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, are invited to participate in the exhibition.

Introduction to the exhibition centers
Western China International Expo City: Serving as the permanent site for WCIF, the Western China International Expo City covers an area of305,000 square meters, with 4 exhibition areas (A, B, C and D), 8 exhibition pavilions (6 U-shaped pavilions, 1E shaped pavilion and 1 multi -functional pavilion ), and 16 halls (15 standard exhibition halls and 1 multi -functional hall). Each standard exhibition hall covers an area of 12,000 square meters on average, and the multi- functional hall covers an area of 16,000 square meters. It is able to contain 10,000 interior international standard booths.
Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center: there are 5 functional areas. On the east side of the center, there are 17 pavilions with a total area of 200,000 square meters. The century city is also known as the “city forest”, as there are urban wetlands with fishes and waterfowls, covering an area of 13.34hectares. More than 6000 ginkgo trees are planted, making it a ecological city.
How to get to the Western China International Expo City from the airport?
You have to walk to T2 and take Line 10 subway. Get off at Taipingyuan Station and transfer for Line 7 subway (outer ring). Get off at South Railway Station and transfer for Line 1 subway (towards science city). Get off at Western China International Expo City and walk for 310 meters. It takes you 1.2 hours for 36.7 km.
How to get to Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center from the airport?
You have to walk to T2 and take Line 10 subway. Get off at Taipingyuan Station and transfer for Line 7 subway (outer ring). Get off at South Railway Station and transfer for Line 1 subway (towards science city). Get off at Century City Station and exit from A, and walk for 1.2 km. It will take you one hour for 22.8km.
